About us

IDG is Cayman’s most trusted interior design firm. Founded in 2003, IDG has grown from a small, local design firm to a forward-thinking purveyor of design and décor that creates inspirational spaces designed to embrace how our clients want to live.

Working with awarding properties and highend developments such as Watercolors, WatersEdge, WaterMark, Stone Island, and the Kimpton Seafire Residences, today, IDG offers a comprehensive suite of design services and a tailored homeware shoppe.

From small makeovers to full-scale design, build, and project management, IDG handles projects large and small. Exceptional design and inspiring products are what define us. Our diverse team of design experts brings technical acumen as well as passion and unerring taste to the table. Every member of our team also takes great satisfaction in helping our clients realize their dreams. IDG – Inspired Living Since 2003.

IDG is a full-service residential design firm, focusing on high-end residential projects and boutique style commercial spaces. Our mission is to approach each project with a holistic vision, and we commit to designing spaces that are a true reflection of the clients living in them.

Our firm is available to assist in all aspects of a project from start to finish including consulting with architects and builders, as well as providing a tailor-made approach to finishes and decor. We’ll transform your house into a functional beautiful space with furniture, fabrics, accessories, and provide you with custom pieces tailor-made for your living space.

Our staff are capable of assisting and facilitating all of our projects from initial concepts to completion, with no stone left unturned.

IDG’s personal shopping services provide peace of mind for clients looking for new furnishings. This can include assistance with on-island inventory from our local retail store, or help navigating the (sometimes complicated) ordering process of international items.

Online shopping can seem simple and easy, but if not managed properly, it can become costly and drawn-out. We manage 100% of the process, from shipping and tracking to importing. Upon arrival, we also handle the inspection, delivery and final installation. IDG’s personal shoppers are unique in that they don’t just help choose items, they manage everything from start to finish.

IDG also offers pre-designed furniture packages that are ideal for rental units, family homes or clients that are on a time crunch.

We believe in the joy of interior design, and our personal shoppers ensure that every bit of stress is taken out of the shopping experience. We want each client to fully enjoy the process of designing their dream space.

Our Team

At IDG our success is built upon the diverse strengths of our team. Each member is integral and brings their unique vision and touch. Our collective experience spans international destinations like the US, Canada, the UK and Spain. We have an extensive background in both residential and commercial spaces, and each hold university degrees in Interior Architecture and Design.

Our personal shoppers have over 15 years of experience in home furnishings and decor, along with strong backgrounds in customer service, meaning each client is completely taken care of.

At IDG we pride ourselves in being a one-stop-shop, and our diverse team is what allows us to be there at every step of the process. Whether that’s creating custom designs, generating 3D renderings, organizing shipping and handling, or picking out the perfect pieces for your home, when our team comes together to collaborate on a project, magic happens.

Favorite Design Element: I love the “wow” feeling you get walking into a space that’s been done by a professional interior designer. Over the years I’ve learned that it really makes a notable difference, and a professionally designed space reads so much better.

Draws Inspiration From: My kids and family. They are my greatest accomplishment and truly teach me more and more every day. I am an avid learner so I find great joy in that.

Cara is many things: a mother to one (dog), an aunt to two, a designer to many and Creative Director to IDG. With a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, she believes that this line of work is not a solo sport, but a collaboration, and she knows that successful collaborations will always capture the character of those who live in a space. Cara’s personal style is most comparable to Daryl Carter, in that she gravitates toward bespoke interiors that are tailored, controlled, balanced and interesting.

Draws Inspiration From: Nature and strong leaders, especially designers who lead.

Spare Time: Outside of my dream job, I enjoy spending time with friends, painting and watching documentaries.

Favorite Design Element: I love it when three different raw textures are incorporated into a space, like wood, metal and stone, and then greenery is added as a finishing touch. For me, it is a must to have plants in your home space as they add so much life!

Draws Inspiration From: DIY tutorials and inspiring books like The 5am Club by Robin Sharma.

Rhon was born on the verdant island of Dominica but grew up in Grand Cayman. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, a Masters of Science in Management, along with a certificate in marketing. Before joining IDG, Rhon worked at a large design-build firm for over five years.

Spare Time: I love playing sports, hosting or attending game nights and going to culinary and art events. When I’m not being super active, you can find me meditating.

Draws Inspiration From: I keep up with a lot of other designers and I like seeing or talking with other creatives. I am inspired by people that are innovating in other industries.
